The National Education Committee is planning 2 outings to SCDF (Singapore Civil Defence Force).
The 1st outing is to the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery where students will be able to:
Visit the SCDF building and learn about the fire engines and equipments (of the past and present).
The 2nd outing is more on equiping oneself with ''survival safety skills'': The Community and Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP) is catered to individuals and is a five-modular-based emergency preparedness training programme for individuals to enhance their level of emergency preparedness in the light of the new security environment.
The modules are as follows:
Module 1: First Aid
Module 2: CPR
Module 3: Fire Safety and Casualty Evacuation
Module 4: Emergency Procedures
Module 5: Unconventional Threats
However, as time is a constraint, we've decided to proceed with Module 3: Fire Safety and Casualty Evacuation:
Here's the Module Syllabus:
-Triangle of combustion
-Methods of extinguishing fires
-Classification of fires
-Method of operating an extinguisher
-Smoke detectors
-Actions to take when a fire breaks out
-Actions to take when you are trapped in a fire situation
-Actions to take when your clothes catches fire
-Actions to take when evacuating from buildings
-Casualty Evacuation

Note: Limited to one class (Perhaps do this as a Mentor-Mentee outing)
The outings are open to all 1st year students, all students who attend this outing will earn 1 NE point.
